I was in Cuzco in 1978 when I went to Peru for a 7 week Third World immersion experience trip. We got tear gassed in the main square, saw Incan ruins before heading by train up the Urubamba River to Aquaas Calientes where we stayed in a dorm style "inn." The next day we hiked along the rail tracks to the bottom of the road that took us up to Macchu Picchu. We had Mass on Macchu Picchu. Somewhere I have the picture of our group from there. It's one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. Have a great time.

We stayed at sanctuary lodge for two nights and then at inkaterra. definitely go very early for the MP tour. it is completely worth it.
